Escape from Baghdad – Virgin Books
Commissioned by Virgin Books to produce 2 maps to illustrate James Ashcroft’s account of going back to Baghdad to help save his friend and interpreter. Simple clear and concise information is defined to highlight areas of the city of Baghdad, complimented with a larger scale map of the route out of Iraq.
A Race Too Far – Ebury Press
A clean illustrated world map in the Robinson format, showing the first single-handed, non-stop, round-the- world yacht race. Plotting the sailors routes of the ill fated race of 1968.
Africa United – Canongate Books
Commissioned by Cannongate Books to produce a map illustration covering the story of modern day Africa told through its soccer. An illustration of the African continent with clear geographical information via minimal line and stoke weight.
Uk Postal Regions – Bespoke
Using the patterns within various envelopes to create the shape of Great Britain, with each pattern/shape showing the geographic areas of the postal system. Using those predetermined shapes the outline of the Queens head is also created forming a paper and card stamp for the top right-hand corner.
UK Political Constituencies – Online
A detailed yet clean colour map of the United Kingdom (omitting Northern Ireland – Separate map) outlining the position of the political parties as they stood in 2005. Linked with information graphics to highlight the actual percentages of the votes cast.
Japanese bento box – Bespoke
A play on the traditional Japanese Bento Box to create a single presentation box for a week to page diary. Example shown is a map of Japan predicting the spread north of the Sakura (cherry blossom) annually celebrated within Japanese culture.
Helmand, Afghanistan. 3 Commando Brigade – Ebury Press
12 maps produced for a book by Ewen Southby-Tailyour documenting the operations undertaken by the Royal Marines in Afghanistan during the operational period of 2006-2007. Map illustrations were created to accompany the accounts within the book. Defined and controlled elements allow the map to contain as much information without compromising the clarity to the viewer....
World War 2 German Invasion – Bespoke
A paper and card map created to show the German invasion of France during the early stages of World War II. In working progress, further embellishment by creating paper elements for the labelling/text and locations of geographical locations.

Commissioned by Ebury Press to illustrate a funny and heart-warming true story about one woman’s search for love and friendship in the lotus position. Being less precise but giving a quirky feel to match the narrative of the story.
